Since April 12, 2022, Georgia has allowed permitless carry. Anyone who qualifies for a Georgia weapons carry license and is not barred from possessing a firearm is a lawful weapons carrier and may carry a handgun openly or concealed without the license. That generally means age 21, or 18 with qualifying military service. The license itself is still issued by the Clarke County Probate Court for five years and is worth having for travel to reciprocity states.
